Clean Planet join as Corporate Members of the Frontier Energy Network

"Joining the Frontier Energy Network places us at the heart this senior level platform for the world’s most ambitious energy companies." Dr. Kate Garyfalou, Clean Planet Energy's Director of Commercial and Business Development

(15/12/2020) Frontier Energy Network posted the following story on their website:

We are delighted to announce that ecoPlant developer, Clean Planet Energy (CPE), have joined the Frontier Energy Network as a Founding Corporate Member. CPE is a fast-rising company that delivers proprietary ecoPlants (that power themselves) designed to convert non-recyclable waste plastic into ultra-clean fuel.

Clean Plant Energy is on a mission to remove over 1 million tonnes of waste plastic from our environment, every year. Plastic that would otherwise end up in landfill, being incinerated or entering our oceans. By replacing fossil hydrocarbons with recycled plastic material, CPE extracts as much value as possible from existing resources while eliminating waste, greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring a sustainable circular economy.

CPE's ecoPlants use a process called ThermoCatalytic Pyrolysis which, in addition to their commercially tested and patent-pending hydroprocessing upgrading process, achieve the shift from low-value pyrolysis oil properties into premium-grade, ultra-clean and ultra-low Sulphur fuel.

Unlike today's mechanical recycling processes which are limited to a specific grade of plastic, CPEs ecoPlants can accept almost any type of plastic, including single-use plastic and plastic which is wet and dirty, tolerating ~10% of contamination (e.g. with food waste); this means most of the plastic which is harming our environment can now be recycled. Each Clean Planet ecoPlant can process 20,000 tons of plastic a year, and their unique and sustainable design aims to make a significant positive impact on the communities wherever they are built.

A Fast-Rising Clean Energy Start-up

Clean Planet Energy were listed as the Top 10 Clean Start-ups in Europe and UK 2020 by Silicon Media, recognising their mission to a cleaner planet, and the steps they are taking to reduce both waste-plastic in the environment and reducing CO2 emissions.

Dr. Kate Garyfalou, Clean Planet Energy's Director of Commercial and Business Development, who will represent CPE's Corporate Frontier Energy Network Membership, says:

"Our partnership with Frontier Energy supports our vision for clean oceans and clean air. Collaborating with a like-minded group such as Frontier who specialises in providing a senior level platform for the world’s most ambitious energy companies, enables Clean Planet to enhance the delivery of our mission of to remove over 1 million tonnes of non-recyclable plastic waste from our environment, every year. We all believe that everyone deserves better, and this collaboration builds on this mantra."

Gayle Meikle, Frontier CEO, says:

"Clean Planet Energy is providing the world with time. By generating a direct fossil fuel replacement from waste-plastic, CPE are enabling both air and marine vessels to run with significantly reduced CO2 emissions, lower air pollutants, whilst reducing the environmental crisis we have created through single-use plastic. We first worked with CPE at our recent Energy 2050 Summit, and as we focus on helping businesses harness the opportunities that are here today, CPE are a perfect partner for now and tomorrow."
