Nature,

#LetItThrive

Nature is extraordinary.

However man-made habitat destruction, pesticide use and climate change  has seen wildlife counts reduce by 82% in the last 30 years. Clean Planet Energy is focused on Clean Oceans, Clean Air. Our ecoPlants remove millions of non-recyclable waste-plastic items from our environment every day, and significantly reduces our carbon and poisonous gas output.

But this is a global problem, and we all need to work together! The smallest actions from an individual, can collectively make remarkable differences. If you are as worried as we are by this decline, below are 6 easy steps you can take today. But first, check out our first 7 episodes:

Episode 1 - Apl'19

Nature, Let It Thrive

In our first Episode we celebrate #EarthDay and the dangers the dangers which await us if we don't change our actions as a society soon.

Length: 3 Minutes

Episode 2 - MAY'19

Endangered Species

A U.N. report states that 1 million species are under risk of extinction due to man-made actions, this video explores our impact on world #EndangeredSpeciesDay

Length: 3 Minutes

Episode 3 - JUN'19

World Bee Day

Without bees, this planet would be unrecognisable. In this episode we explore unseen footage of how Bees interact with the nature around us, and how they are pivotal for the 90% of food we eat.

Length: 4 Minutes

Episode 4 - JUL'19

Day of Environment

Our environment keeps us alive, and it is everything to us. But the actions taken by humans on an 'industrial scale' have began to impact our environment dramatically.

Length: 2 Minutes

Episode 5 - AUG'19

Our Circular Ecology

Human impact on the planet is having a devastating consequence on the relationship between organisms and their surroundings. Habitat destruction, the climate crisis and plastic pollution has been responsible for the extinction of up to 200 species per day.

Length: 5 Minutes

Episode 6 - SEP'19

National Wildlife Day

It is the smallest creatures that play the most important roles in our ecosystem. Our waters, soil, food supply and even medicine all depend on their omnipresence. In this Episode we explore the wonder of Nature.

Length: 2 Minutes

Episode 7 - Oct'19

Empire of Ants

Human impact on the planet is having a devastating consequence on the relationship between organisms and their surroundings. Habitat destruction, the climate crisis and plastic pollution has been responsible for the extinction of up to 200 species per day.

Length: 6 Minutes

Our Six Simple Steps

If you care about nature, and want to change the world without changing your lifestyle, then start with these 6 simple steps and #LetItThrive

Eat All The Food You Buy.

It is so simple to do, and yet so easy to fail at. Food-waste in the western world is at an all time high. As individuals if we consume all we buy, we buy less. It saves us money, reduces carbon emissions and use of pesticides due to reduced farming needs.

Avoid Air-Freighted Food

Today we are accustomed to low-cost food from around the world, but have you ever thought of the carbon-cost of buying this food? By focussing on local food you'll reduce the demand on carbon-heavy air-freighted food. Reducing demand, reduces supply, and thus cuts the impact on nature of excesses air-freight.

Reduce Meat and Dairy Consumption

Every year, every single cow will release between 70 - 120 kg of methane per year. Methane is a greenhouse gas but 21x more negative than CO2. One cow in a year is the equivalent of driving a fossil-fuel car 8,000 miles (in regards to CO2 output). There are 1.2 billion cows alive at any time, farmed in excess by humans. By lowering your meat (all meats) and dairy consumption you can reduce greenhouse gases, and help keep the natural ecosystem balanced. If you're a meat eater, why not set an initial target of no more than 3 meals a week with meat?

Support Projects for Change

All over the world people are working towards solutions which are helping to stop habitat destruction, pesticide use and climate change. Usually these projects need both financial and practical support. Find a project you love, and help where you can - for example by supporting Clean Planet Energy's bid to launch ecoPlants around the world. You can learn more about our ecoPlant here. Follow Clean Planet Energy on FacebookLinkedInTwitter and YouTube, or follow the #LetItThrive on Instagram.

Switch to a renewable energy plan

If you're the homeowner/bill payer, then this can take 15 minutes of your time, but change lives. Switch to a renewable energy plan! It usually costs the same (or cheaper), but provides extra demands to energy companies to keep up investment in renewable programs. Let wildlife grow.

So often you'll see 'beautifully' cut lawns and 'perfectly' managed gardens, but what if this landscaping is ripping away the nature our wildlife needs to prosper? In our #EndangeredSpeciesDay video, we look at the importance of an unsung hero in our fields and gardens, and how we need everyone to give nature a chance to 'do its thing'. The environment is circular, so if you have a chance then give nature a chance to thrive!
